Energy Bell was founded in 2009 by Joe Dickens. He graduated from The Citadel in 1997 before beginning his professional career as a Project Manager within the Consulting Services Divisions of IBM and BearingPoint. Joe entered the construction field in 2006, when he began working with a local home builder in Charleston SC. Joe was the company’s Project Manager and Head of Charleston Operations. Here he was able to successfully integrate his project management skills from the consulting world into the framework of upscale residential home-building and remolding.
JBell Homes (www.jbellhomes.net) in 2008 in an effort to bring “quality, honesty, and integrity” to his highly valued customers. In striving to become a better home building company JBell Homes decided to become a more energy conscious company and home builder. In doing so Joe became certified through BPI (www.BPI..org), RESNET (www.Resnet.us), Home Energy Score (www.homeenergyscore.lbl.gov), and Energy Star (www.energystar.gov) to gain knowledge in the concepts and practices to build cleaner more comfortable home while helping his customers save a substantial amount on their energy bills. In doing so Joe found that there was a huge need for existing an new home to become more energy efficient with simple solutions. He then Founded Energy Bell in 2009 to accommodate his customers needs. Energy Bell has now conducted over 300 audits and retrofits and has become a leader in the energy field.
Energy Bell works with SCE&G, Charleston Wise and the Co-op’s of South Carolina as a perfered energy auditor and home performance contractor. Energy Bell is always striving to keep up to date on the latest energy efficiency ideas and practices.
