I am a home builder in the Charleston Area. I decided to use Energy Bell to help improve the market value of my homes that I construct. As a result of the Energy Bell Services, I am able to advertise my houses being built with “Green Construction” practices. Major green features include spray foam insulation, low e-windows, energy star appliances, sustainable building materials, and a rennai on demand hot water heater. All my recent homes have been closely monitored by Energy Bell during construction.
Energy Bell charges a very reasonable fee for all of the services that they provide. For each home I build, they work with me on selections and construction practices and certify at the completion of construction that the home meets the EPA’s strict guidelines for energy efficiency. HERS rated homes often qualify for special mortgage rates and have much lower energy bills, and are very appealing to potential home buyers. I am very pleased with the service and consultation that I receive from Energy Bell.

Just writing you to let you know My electric bill is down 40% on average. If you add in the increased gas expense for the water heater, my bills are down about 20%. If you look at the expense of the work you did and the water heater and subtract out the tax credit, that 20% savings will take about 2.5 years to pay for itself.
The biggest difference I notice is that I used to have to keep my thermostat at about 68 degrees to keep my home cool. Now I keep it between 75 and 77. I am sure that is the difference in my bill. I am a real estate agent, certified as Greenby the National Association of Realtors, as well as an Eco-Broker. In recent years, I have taken the time to study the energy issues we are facing. I wanted to do something to make my home more energy efficient, having developed more concerns in recent years about energy usage in general. If I called an insulation guy, that was recommended, if I called a window guy, that was recommended. My name is Dustin Westmoreland and I live in Columbia. I found Energy Bell through an ad on the Internet and am very glad to have come across it. Joe called me right away and explained his services to me and scheduled a time when he would be available to come to my home. While at my house we went over my energy concerns as well as areas of my home that I thought were problems. Joe addressed each of my concerns and explained why they were problems and also what options were available to fix them. He was very up front about suggesting the homeowner performing some of the repairs in order to be more cost effective. The analysis of the house did not take too long and the whole process was very professional. Within a couple of days I received a complete breakdown of the findings with costs and suggestions as to how to fix my energy issues. I was pleasantly surprised to find things in the report that I did not even know he took pictures of. Another thing I like are the “how to save money” energy updates I get in my email. That is a service I did not know about or expect and in today’s world you usually do not get more than you paid for. Overall The service is very reasonable and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I already knew there were problems with my home but anyone can and will have areas of improvement and by fixing these the service pays for itself.
